Last weekend, a typhoon hit and the weather was bad. Food sharing action was inevitably affected. Still, the rain will not diminish our enthusiasm and we will continue to act as usual afterwards. We will spread the action to Tsuen Kwan O district and increase bread collection points in all districts. Food sharing action very much needs your support and we sincerely invite you to become a volunteer. With your participation, we will be able to carry on cherishing food and helping others!

Last week, volunteers joined bread collection and sharing action in four districts, namely Fo Tan, Tai Po, Fanling and To Kwa Wan. A total of 205 servings of bread weighing 20.79 kgs in total were collected. The total number of beneficiaries was 115. 

Here were the results of each district:  

Fo Tan: On Saturday, the action was cancelled due to unstable weather; on Sunday, 41 servings of bread weighing 3.98 kgs were collected. All servings of bread were distributed to the cleaners and members in the neighbourhood. The total number of beneficiaries was 32.   

Tai Po: On Saturday, 62 servings of bread weighing 1.98 kgs were collected; on Sunday, the action was cancelled due to no leftover bread. All servings of bread were distributed to the cleaners, scavengers, the homeless and members in the neighbourhood. The total number of beneficiaries was 26.  

Fanling: On Tuesday, 73 servings of bread weighing 8.33 kgs were collected; on Friday, the action was cancelled due to typhoon. All servings of bread were distributed to the cleaners, security guards, scavengers and the homeless in the neighbourhood. The total number of beneficiaries was 35. 

To Kwa Wan: On Wednesday, 29 sandwiches (included in the total bread weight) weighing 6.50 kgs were collected; on Sunday, the action was cancelled due to no leftover bread. All servings of bread were distributed to the cleaners, the homeless and members in the neighbourhood. The total number of beneficiaries was 22. 

Hung Hom and Causeway Bay: On Friday, the action was cancelled due to typhoon.
